Breast Feeding Made Easy

Maternity Bras vs Nursing Bras

For new and upcoming mothers who are unsure, a maternity bra (worn whilst pregnant), and a nursing bra (for feeding your baby), are the same thing.  Ease of opening your bra when breast feeding your baby varies from bra to bra. When shopping for a nursing bra, keep in mind that when you are holding baby, you generally only have one free hand. A full 'opening' with an easy clasp can make things so much easier for both you and baby. Find a bra that's easy to manage.  Also make sure it has comfortable shoulder straps that offer great support.

Breast Feeding Mothers

How many maternity bras should I have?

Most mothers prefer to have at least 2 to 3 bras, and generally 4 to 5. Maternity Bras normally require more washing, due to milk residue with accidental leakages, and milk from baby's mouth. You would probably use 2 bras per day and if you're too busy and tired to wash them every day you should probably have enough to get you through at least the 2 days.

Caring for my Nursing Bra
Hand-wash your maternity bra with a mild soap. Bleaching and the use of harsh solutions on your bra may weaken the fabric and could also cause skin irritation.
